The festival in the year of Palestrina
The 17th edition of the Moreschi Festival – In Choir for the Angel of Rome was entirely built around the five hundredth anniversary of the birth of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, the composer who gave form to Roman sacred polyphony and who was born just a few kilometers from Monte Compatri.
The events
On Sunday, June 8, 2025, in the church of San Michele Arcangelo, the "Prince of Music" concert opened the festival. On Sunday, June 22, 2025, in the same venue, the choral showcase brought together the Alessandro Moreschi Polyphonic Choir directed by Maestro Adele Rossi, the Lvsitanvs Ensemble directed by Carla Tavares, and the Labyrintum Vocum ensemble directed by Alessandro Bares.
Organization
The edition was curated by the Alessandro Moreschi Polyphonic Choir Association together with the Photo Club Controluce, with the patronage of the Municipality of Monte Compatri and free admission for the public.
