Monteverdi Marittimo Soapbox Derby

The 2nd Monteverdi Marittimo Soapbox Derby was held on July 30, 2025, organized by the Pro Loco in collaboration with Speeddown Italia.

At the start, 35 pilots, an increase compared to the first edition, arrived from various areas of Tuscany: Pisa, Lucca, Versilia, Casentino, and Florence. The competitors faced each other in four timed heats divided into eight official categories, from vehicles with ball-bearing wheels to those with rubber tires — engine-less go-karts, traditional carts, mini-karts, single-bobs, and folkloric carts — as well as drift trikes and gravity bikes, along the usual 700-meter track with an average gradient of 7%.
