Edition 2025 — International Art Workshop
The 2025 edition marked a historic milestone: the 50th anniversary of the International Art Workshop in Montepulciano, in the province of Siena. From July 11 to 27, over 340 artists and professionals from all over Europe renewed the cultural utopia conceived by Hans Werner Henze, with 42 performances and 22 premieres (17 of which were world premieres, 16 commissioned by the festival).
Among the most anticipated events were the opera "Cavalleria Rusticana" staged as an interactive set in the Renaissance Piazza Grande, the "Bach at Breakfast" series at the Caffè Poliziano, and the series dedicated to Ravel at Santa Maria dei Servi. From July 12, the "Exploring Utopia" symposium, curated by composer Filippo del Corno, brought together figures from the Italian art scene, while the Fortress hosted a retrospective exhibition on the festival's fifty-year history.
