Edition 2025 — Montelepre Medieval Festival

On June 14 and 15, 2025, Montelepre, in the province of Palermo, returned to the 15th century with the Ventimiglia Medieval Festival. Two days of historical re-enactment featuring over four hundred participants from across Sicily, a grand multi-era pageant, flag-wavers, falconers, jesters, a living chessboard, the election of the Baroness of Montelepre, a medieval market, and a banquet in the streets and squares of the historic center.

Montelepre Medieval Festival 2025

The 2025 edition of the Montelepre Medieval Festival took place on Saturday, June 14, and Sunday, June 15, 2025, transforming the town's historic center into a medieval village animated by over four hundred participants from all over Sicily.

Saturday, June 14: Opening of the medieval market and ancient fencing demonstrations in the afternoon, presentation of the re-enactment and noble houses, the Living Chessboard between King Alfonso V of Aragon and Archbishop Giovanni Ventimiglia (5:00 PM), performances with dances, fire shows, and bubbles (6:00 PM), and in the evening, the election of the Baroness of Montelepre 2025 with the handing over of the city keys.

Sunday, June 15: Opening of the medieval village with artisan workshops, fencing demonstrations, and at 5:30 PM, the grand multi-era historical pageant departing from Piazza Regina Elena along Piazza Ventimiglia and Corso Castrenze Di Bella to the Portella della Ginestra square, featuring performances by jesters, falconers, and armored duels, concluding with a medieval banquet and musical entertainment.

Sunday, June 15, 2025: 4:00 PM opening of the medieval village and artisan workshops; 4:30 PM fencing demonstrations; 5:30 PM multi-era historical pageant with over 400 participants from Piazza Regina Elena; 6:00 PM jester and falconer shows; 8:00 PM medieval banquet and musical entertainment.
