Edition 2025 — Chestnut Festival

The 63rd edition of the Chestnut Festival took place in Montelanico over the two weekends of October 11-12 and 17-18-19, 2025. The Lepini Mountains village welcomed thousands of visitors with roasted chestnuts, wooden huts, wine cellars, typical product stalls, live music, and family entertainment. An edition that confirmed the event, born in 1962, as one of the longest-running in Lazio.

The 63rd edition

In 2025, the Montelanico Chestnut Festival expanded to five days spread over two weekends: October 11 and 12 and then October 17, 18, and 19. The historic center of the village, in the Metropolitan City of Rome, was filled with wooden huts, wine cellars, and food stalls dedicated to the fruit of autumn.

The absolute stars were the roasted chestnuts, accompanied by chestnut desserts, traditional peasant dishes, and typical products of the Lepini Mountains: wine, oil, cheeses, and cured meats. Restaurants and pizzerias in the village offered themed menus for the entire duration of the event, while live music, shows, and family entertainment alternated in the squares.

Mayor Sandro Onorati defined the festival as an intangible heritage to be guarded with passion, emphasizing the role the event plays in keeping generations together and bringing those who have left back to the village. The organization was handled by the Pro Loco Montelanico with the support of the Municipality.
