Monte Mars Marathon

In 2025, the running event in Sordevolo that serves as the foundation for the new Monte Mars Marathon was the Sordevolo-Rifugio Coda (Valle Elvo Skyrunning), held on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Returning after a few years of absence, the race attracted about one hundred athletes for the 6th Cesare Pedrazzo Trophy, dedicated to the record-holder and co-founder of the event alongside Alberto Monticone.

The technical and scenic course measured 12 km with 1,650 meters of positive elevation gain, climbing from the Sordevolo amphitheatre up to Rifugio Coda, at an altitude of 2,280 meters. This skyrunning tradition laid the groundwork for the debut, in 2026, of the more challenging Monte Mars Marathon.
