Edition 2025 — Battle of the Alps — Chaberton
The 2025 edition of the Monte Chaberton Commemoration took place on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, marking the 85th anniversary of the Battle of the Alps of June 1940, organized by the Monte Chaberton — 515th G.a.F. Battery Association.
On Saturday, June 21, at 10:30 AM, the parade departed from Piazza Vittorio Amedeo in Cesana Torinese, followed by the military ceremony at the Chaberton War Memorial in the presence of civil and military authorities, and a commemoration at the cemetery with the Association of Veterans of the 40th Battery of the "Susa d'fer" Mountain Artillery Group. From the afternoon, the War in the Alps exhibition at the Palazzo delle Feste in Bardonecchia was open to visitors.
The ascent to the summit from Claviere with flag-raising and honors to the fallen was planned for Sunday, but heavy snow at high altitude necessitated changes to the climbing program for safety reasons.
