Edition 2025 — Montalcino Carnival

In 2025, the Montalcino Carnival once again brought the four Quarters together around the traditions of the week before Lent, with masquerade parties, Fat Thursday celebrations, and the traditional Costolone event at the Ruga Quarter, leading up to Shrove Tuesday which closed the carnival season in the historic village of Brunello.

The 2025 edition of the Montalcino Carnival reaffirmed the festival's bond with the districts and the village community. Among the events, the Fat Thursday Party, enlivened by the G. Puccini Philharmonic, and masquerade parties with aperitifs warmed the atmosphere in the district headquarters.

The traditional Costolone event was hosted by the Ruga Quarter in the afternoon, while the school children's carnival party involved the town's youngest residents. As per tradition, the festivities concluded on Shrove Tuesday, reiterating the strong spirit of belonging that characterizes district life in Montalcino.
