Edition 2025 — Monreale Sacred Music Week

The 67th Monreale International Sacred Music Week took place from October 10 to 17, 2025, in the Norman Cathedral, focusing on the theme of 'Genesis'. The opening concert featured Haydn's 'Die Schöpfung' (The Creation) with the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Chor from Hamburg, conducted by Hansjörg Albrecht. A week of free concerts that attracted over two thousand spectators beneath the golden vaults of the cathedral.

2025 Edition: Genesis

The 67th Monreale International Sacred Music Week was held from October 10 to 17, 2025, in the Monreale Cathedral, marking the first chapter of the new three-year journey dedicated to Genesis. The opening concert featured Die Schöpfung (The Creation) by Franz Joseph Haydn, performed by the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana with the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Chor of Hamburg, conducted by Hansjörg Albrecht, and featuring soloists Lenneke Ruiten, Patrick Grahl, and Nahuel Di Pierro.

The following days featured evening concerts with free admission, with repertoires ranging from the 18th to the 20th century. The festival, organized by the Fondazione Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana with the support of the Sicilian Region and the Archdiocese of Monreale, was a great success with the public, drawing over two thousand spectators throughout the week.
