Mompeo International Short Film Festival (Mompeo in Corto)

Third edition: 'Re-(e)volutions'

From July 2 to 5, 2025, the village of Mompeo, in the Province of Rieti, hosted the third edition of the festival, dedicated to the theme Re-(e)volutions: the relationship between preserving the memory of villages and the drive for change, told through short cinema.

The opening night on July 2 was held at the San Carlo Auditorium with the screening of the film Il coupon della felicità. On the following evenings, in Piazza Regillo, the fourteen short film finalists were presented, chosen from sixty-nine works submitted by authors from Italy, Spain, Canada, Brazil, India, Ireland, Estonia, Mexico, Nigeria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Palestine, the UK, the US, Taiwan, Turkey, and Tunisia.

Director Agostino Ferrente led the 'Dramaturgy of the Real' workshop, while the jury brought together Barbora Bobulova, Barbara Chichiarelli, Maurizio Di Rienzo, and Claudio Giovannesi, and Claudio Giovannesi. The final day, July 5, saw the inauguration of the village's film archive and, after the awards ceremony, the screening of La paranza dei bambini by Claudio Giovannesi.
