About Millimetri

Millimetri is the cinema and design review that the Politeama Franco Moschini in Tolentino, Marche, dedicates to the relationship between the big screen, architecture, and design. Six evening events between November 2025 and April 2026, each introduced by a talk with guests from the design world, plus a morning session for schools. It ranges from a documentary on Gae Aulenti to the live soundtrack of Metropolis, passing through Almodóvar, The Brutalist, and a tribute to Michelangelo Antonioni. An original way to discover how design enters everyday life.

When design meets the big screen

Millimetri is the review that brings cinema and design under the same roof at the Politeama Franco Moschini in Tolentino, in the heart of the province of Macerata, Marche. The title is not accidental: in design, millimeters define dimensional precision, while in cinema, they determine the visual design of each shot. From this link comes a journey that, under the subtitle "Design for everyone", aims to make a world often perceived as elitist accessible to experts and the curious alike.

A program in six evenings

The review is divided into six evening events spread between November 2025 and April 2026, plus an educational morning session, Design4Kids, designed to introduce children and schools to the language of design. Each screening is preceded or accompanied by an introductory talk with guests from the world of architecture and design, which dialogues with the film on a design theme.

Among the selected titles are works that have made cinema history and recent films: from the documentary dedicated to the architect and designer Gae Aulenti to the spectacular live soundtrack of Fritz Lang's Metropolis, from the cinema of Pedro Almodóvar to the award-winning The Brutalist by Brady Corbet, up to the final tribute to Michelangelo Antonioni.

Who organizes Millimetri

The review is curated by the Design Terrae Foundation together with Officine Mattòli, and represents a return to the Foundation's origins, always committed to disseminating design culture. The initiative is sponsored by the Municipality of Tolentino, the Fondazione Marche Cultura, and ADI MAM, with the support of various local partners.

The Politeama Franco Moschini

The venue for the review is the Politeama Franco Moschini, at Corso Garibaldi 80, one of the symbolic places of Tolentino's cultural life. Tolentino, a city of art in the Province of Macerata, has always been linked to the design and creative enterprise culture of the Marche region: hosting a review that blends cinema and design here is therefore a deeply coherent choice with the territory's identity.
