Edition 2025 — Mileto Folk Fest

The second edition of the Mileto Folk Fest took place on August 24, 2025, in Torre Mileto, San Nicandro Garganico (FG), and was a resounding success. With afternoon workshops in pizzica and tambourine and a crowded evening concert, the Tower and the sea provided the backdrop for a celebration of folk music and dance from the Gargano and Southern Italy, featuring the Aria Sonora group and the Sonabbash ensemble.

The second edition of the Mileto Folk Fest, held on August 24, 2025, in Torre Mileto, was hailed as a resounding success by the organizers and the Pro Loco of San Nicandro Garganico. The day began in the afternoon with free workshops in Salento pizzica and frame drum, culminating in the evening concert with the Aria Sonora Danze Popolari dance troupe and the group Sonabbash. Pizzica, Gargano folk songs, and tammurriate enlivened the night on the coast, confirming the festival as one of the most iconic events of the San Nicandro summer.

Afternoon — Free workshops

  • Lesson in Salento pizzica led by Antonio and Simona Russo (Aria Sonora)
  • Frame drum workshop with pizzica technique, led by Fabio Martino (Sonabbash)

Evening — Concert

  • Folk music and dance show with Aria Sonora Danze Popolari (artistic direction Antonio Russo, choreography Simona Russo)
  • Concert by Sonabbash, a folk music group from the province of Treviso with Gargano roots, featuring pizzica, Gargano songs, and tammurriate

Highlights

The evening concert with Aria Sonora and Sonabbash, featuring Salento pizzica, Gargano songs, and Campanian tammurriate just a few steps from the sea, at the foot of the watchtower.
