Edition 2025 — Pistoletto a Matera

2025 was the year of approach to the title of Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue: the city prepared the grand program for 2026, of which Michelangelo Pistoletto's projects represent one of the most anticipated initiatives, dedicated to the Mediterranean as a space for dialogue between cultures.

Towards Matera 2026

Throughout 2025, Matera built the path that led it to become Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue 2026, defining the calendar of exhibitions, installations, and events that animate the city throughout the Mediterranean year. Among the flagship projects announced are the two works by Michelangelo Pistoletto dedicated to the Mediterranean, to be set up in symbolic locations of the Sassi starting in the spring of 2026. The anticipation surrounding these interventions accompanied the official presentation of the program and the cultural debate on the city's intercultural vocation.
