Edition 2025 — Chestnut Festival

The 2025 edition of the Mezzojuso Chestnut Festival marked the grand return of the event after a seven-year hiatus: three days, from October 24 to 26, with a program packed with concerts, gastronomy, and traditions. Guests included the famous Goran Bregović with his Wedding and Funeral Band, singer-songwriter Alberto D'Urso, and the Zoo di Radio 105, in addition to the evocative Sunday Drum Festival.

The Mezzojuso Chestnut Festival 2025 took place from October 24 to 26, marking the return of the event after seven years of absence (the last edition was in 2018). The Arbëreshë village in the province of Palermo came alive with food stalls, roasted chestnut tastings, live cooking shows, workshops, guided tours, and nature hikes.

The musical lineup featured big names: Friday the 24th, in Piazza Umberto I, a concert by Goran Bregović with his Wedding and Funeral Band; Saturday the 25th, singer-songwriter Alberto D'Urso, followed by Zoo di Radio 105 with Paolo Noise and Fabio Alisei. Sunday the 26th featured the Drum Festival, with groups from various Sicilian cities, and free chestnut tastings at the Chestnut Village.

The event, organized by the Municipality of Mezzojuso with the Pro Loco and the Women's Council, saw a great turnout from the public.

Programme

Friday, October 24: Concert by Goran Bregović with the Wedding and Funeral Band (Piazza Umberto I, 10:30 PM). Saturday, October 25: Alberto D'Urso (10:00 PM), followed by Zoo di Radio 105 with Paolo Noise and Fabio Alisei. Sunday, October 26: Drum Festival with groups from various Sicilian cities; free chestnut tasting at the Chestnut Village. Every day: tastings, live cooking shows, workshops, guided tours, nature hikes, and a culinary competition.
