Messina International Clarinet Competition – Working in the Orchestra

The third edition of the Messina International Clarinet Competition was held from October 13 to 19, 2025, at the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele in Messina. Open to clarinetists of all nationalities, the competition was divided into Principal Clarinet and Bass Clarinet sections, featuring video pre-selection, live rounds, and a semi-final.

The highlight was the final gala concert on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 5:00 PM, in the theater's Main Hall: the finalists performed with the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele Orchestra, conducted by maestro Salvatore Percacciolo, in a program designed to showcase the technique, musicality, and expressive power of the instrument. The winners of the two sections received a cash prize of 4,000 euros and the opportunity for a solo performance in the theater's 2026 season.
