Messina Biennale – Expo Arte Messina

First edition 2025 — "Emotion"

The 1st Messina Art Biennale was held from September 27 to November 23, 2025, choosing "Emotion" as its guiding theme. The event, promoted by the Messina Foundation for Culture under the presidency of Gianfranco Pistorio, brought together about 300 artists with works of painting, sculpture, photography, installations, graphic design, and video art.

The inauguration, on Saturday, September 27, unfolded through the city's most evocative spots: the "Maria Accascina" Regional Museum, the Cathedral Crypt, the Vittorio Emanuele Theater, Palazzo Zanca, the Monte di Pietà, and Palazzo dei Leoni. Alongside the visual arts, the program offered a film section, conferences, workshops, and classical music concerts, with numerous side events distributed over the weekends.
