Merenda nell'Oliveta

In the spring of 2025, the Municipality of Carlantino renewed its participation in Merenda nell'Oliveta, included in the 5th national edition of the Città dell'Olio Association project, which involved over eighty cities in eighteen Italian regions from May 1st to June 29th. The theme of the year, "The oil that unites," highlighted the value of extra virgin olive oil as a symbol of community and peace, in full harmony with the message "Olive tree, symbol of Peace" chosen for all the Association's activities.

For Carlantino, a City of Oil since 2023, the day also represented an opportunity to enhance the territory's olive-growing heritage: among the ancient olive trees overlooking Lake Occhito, in the heart of the Daunian Mountains, the community celebrated local extra virgin olive oil with walks, tastings, and moments of conviviality linked to the peasant tradition of the Daunia region.
