The first edition of Mennula Fest

The Mennula Fest 2025 debuted on August 22 and 23 in Alessandria della Rocca, marking the first edition of the Sicani Mountains almond festival. The experiential day featured a packed program: a welcome breakfast with local products from 10:00 AM, presentations of agricultural businesses and demonstrations of cultivation techniques, hand-harvesting of almonds, and demonstrations of shelling and drying.

In the afternoon, visitors were able to discover the Pendino mill, active since the 1960s, where almond paste and traditional sweets like 'ncannellati are produced. From 3:00 PM, the historic center hosted food stalls, workshops, music, folk performances, art and craft exhibitions, a display of vintage cars and motorcycles, and the characteristic parade of Sicilian carts. The event took place in conjunction with the Alessandria della Rocca Slalom.

Saturday — Almond grove experience

• 10:00 AM — Welcome and breakfast with local products
• Presentation of agricultural businesses and demonstration of almond cultivation techniques
• Hand-harvesting of almonds, shelling, and drying
• 1:00 PM — Lunch (by reservation)
• Afternoon — Visit to the Pendino mill and production of almond paste and traditional sweets

Historic center — from 3:00 PM

• Food stalls and tastings of sweet and savory almond-based products
• Craft workshops and live demonstrations, cooking shows
• Folk music and street performances
• Art and craft exhibitions, vintage car and motorcycle display
• Parade of Sicilian carts
• Conference and nature trekking in the Sicani landscapes
