Edition 2025 — Melissano Chestnut Festival

In October 2025, the Melissano Chestnut Festival renewed its appointment with the autumn of lower Salento. In the center of the town, in the Province of Lecce, residents and visitors gathered around the braziers to enjoy roasted chestnuts, grilled meat, pittule, and local wine. A free-entry folk festival, simple and convivial, which celebrated the traditional flavors of Puglia and the roasted chestnut season.

The 2025 edition of the Melissano Chestnut Festival took place in October, confirming the Salento town's vocation for autumn folk festivals. Among the streets and squares of the village, in the Province of Lecce, the stands offered the essential roasted chestnuts served hot, grilled meat, the typical Salento pittule, and wine of local tradition.

The event, with free admission, attracted families and visitors from neighboring towns, offering an evening dedicated to conviviality and the genuine flavors of Salento. An opportunity to discover Melissano in its most authentic dimension, far from the summer frenzy, and to celebrate the arrival of the Apulian autumn together.
