The 2025 edition in Calatabiano
The Medieval Evenings and the Palio dei Cruillas returned in August 2025 to Calatabiano (CT), confirming the summer appointment with the village's medieval historical re-enactment. The ancient streets of the Gesù e Maria district hosted taverns with dishes of ancient flavors, court jesters, minstrels, stilt-walkers, and fire-eaters.
Among the most anticipated moments were the historical pageant of the Cruyllas family with its costumed performers in 14th-century attire, the Palio dei Cruillas — the chivalric joust of the fourteen knights representing the municipalities of the Alcantara Valley — falconry shows, and the re-enactment of the pirate attack, commemorating ancient Saracen raids on the Ionian coast.
