Food in the Middle Ages

The third edition of the Medieval Cities Festival, from June 27 to 29, 2025, at the Auditorium del Parco in L'Aquila, chose food as its theme, investigating the link between medieval cities, food resources, and their exploitation. Promoted by the University of L'Aquila and the Municipality of L'Aquila, the edition brought notable guests such as Oscar Farinetti, Paolo Mieli, and Mario Tozzi to L'Aquila.

The program combined lectures by historians and scholars, book presentations, re-enactments, markets, and guided tours with 3D viewers, confirming the educational formula that has made the Festival a beloved appointment for the public of L'Aquila and Abruzzo.
