The 2025 Maza Festival at Villa Sforza

The 2025 edition opened on Saturday, October 25 with educational workshops curated by the Legio XXX Ulpia Victrix, children's games by Atletica Lanuvium Neptunia, a cheesemaking workshop with free tasting, a chess-themed treasure hunt, and the awarding of "Apprentice Archaeologist" certificates. In the evening, the AperiMaza offered a tasting of the ancient focaccia along with local wines.

Sunday, October 26 began with a visit to the Roman encampment, followed by live painting by Fernando Mangone, experimental archaeology workshops on fire, flint, and prehistoric weapons, and the twelfth historical re-enactment of The Goddess and the Serpent. In the afternoon, there were Roman combat demonstrations, the Art and Wine experience by reservation, and an ancient musical instruments workshop.

The event, promoted by the Municipality of Lanuvio with the Civic and Diffused Museum and local associations — Lanuvio Nuova Pro Loco, APS Campoleone, Innova APS, Civita Folk, Scacchi in Tour, and Atletica Lanuvium — recorded a large turnout of visitors, confirming itself as one of the most successful identity-building events in the Castelli Romani.
