May in Busseto – Nabucco

The event dedicated to opera and Verdian singing in Busseto, in May 2025, reached an international peak of appeal. On May 1, 2025, on the stage of the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi, soprano Anna Netrebko and baritone Luca Salsi offered a recital accompanied on the piano by maestro Nelson Calzi, to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Giuseppe Verdi's death. This was Netrebko's first recital entirely dedicated to Verdi's repertoire, in a program designed for the city that was the composer's cradle. The Busseto opera season thus confirmed the vocation of the small Teatro Verdi to host great voices and new talents in the Maestro's homeland.
