May Festivals and May Fair (Feast of Saint Angelo the Martyr)

The 2025 edition followed the traditional ritual. On May 5, at 8:30 AM, the parade of horses and Sicilian carts took place with a performance by the Cultural and Folkloric Association "A Lanterna," followed by Holy Mass at the Diocesan Sanctuary of Saint Angelo and the morning parade of decorated mules. In the evening, after the solemn Mass at 7:00 PM, the procession of the Saint's relics and the five candles began at 8:00 PM through the city streets, in the presence of civil and military authorities. On May 6, the day of thanksgiving, the games of the greasy pole (palio antinna) and the sea palio were held in the early afternoon at the harbor, while the May Fair enlivened the city streets with stalls, music, and shows.
