Edition 2025 — Matese & Climate Change

The third edition of Matese & Climate Change took place on May 23-24, 2025, in Piedimonte Matese, dedicated to the waters of the Matese and their future. Two days of conferences, panels, thematic walks, cinema, and a photo contest, featuring researchers from the University of Naples Federico II, local administrators, and environmental activists, held between the San Tommaso d'Aquino Diocesan Library, the Villa Comunale, and the San Domenico cloister.

Matese & Climate Change 2025 — 3rd Edition

In 2025, Matese & Climate Change returned to Piedimonte Matese on May 23 and 24, focusing on a decisive theme for the massif: the water resources of the Matese in the face of climate change. The event, promoted by the Fondazione San Bonaventura with the San Tommaso d'Aquino Diocesan Library, the Municipality, and local environmental groups, brought together university research, local authorities, and local activism to discuss insufficient snowfall, biodiversity, food quality, and hydrogeological instability.

The evening of Friday, May 23, opened at 6:15 PM in the Diocesan Library with institutional greetings, followed by a performance-lecture by chemist and science communicator Ruggero Rollini and, at 7:45 PM, the screening of the short film Mefite in the presence of director Beatrice Surano. On Saturday, May 24, between the Villa Comunale and the San Domenico cloister, the program included the presentation of a historical volume, a thematic walk on the "memories of water," a scientific focus with professors from the University of Naples Federico II, and, in closing, the awards ceremony for the photo contest with an exhibition of local Slow Food products.
