Matera Starry Sky

On September 27, 2025, Matera Cielo Stellato transformed the Sassi into a shared space for contemplation and listening: the turning off of public lights and the illumination with thousands of candles and small lights restored a timeless atmosphere to the alleys, while piano and electronic music and narration accompanied the participants. The event, a new edition of a rite of light that has marked significant moments in Matera's life in different eras, took place between Sasso Barisano and Piazza Duomo as part of the journey towards Matera Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue 2026, as a laboratory of culture, vision, and community.
