Edition 2025 — Matera Film Festival

The sixth edition of the Matera Film Festival took place from November 8 to 16, 2025 (with a pre-opening on November 2), presenting around one hundred works in competition and out of competition. Guests included Terry Gilliam, Gabriele Mainetti, Yoshitaka Amano, Claudio Bisio, Riccardo Milani, and Arisa.

The Sixth Edition (2025)

The 2025 edition confirmed the festival's formula, with around one hundred cinematic works divided between competitive and non-competitive sections. The three competitions featured up to ten feature films, up to ten documentaries, and up to twenty short films.

Among the announced and present guests were Terry Gilliam, Gabriele Mainetti, and artist Yoshitaka Amano. The awards ceremony was held at the Cineteatro Comunale Gerardo Guerrieri, with the participation of Claudio Bisio, Riccardo Milani, and Arisa. The award for best feature film went to "Le città di pianura", directed by Francesco Sossai.
