Edition 2025 — Matera Carnival
In 2025, the Matera Carnival brought together masked groups and anthropological carnivals from Basilicata in the historic center and the Sassi, in a participatory parade that anticipated the format of the 2026 edition.
In 2025, the Matera Carnival also enlivened the historic center and the Sassi with the traditional masked parade, capable of creating a dialogue between the various Lucanian and Southern carnival traditions.
The procession, with music, dances, and costumed groups, confirmed the Carnival as one of the most cherished events of the Materan winter, organized by the Municipality with the Cupa Cupé Association.
