Mater Jubilaei 2025: the first edition

It all began on August 8, 2025. In Piazza Roma, in front of the church, the Madonna della Libera Polyphonic Choir of Melizzano welcomed five guest choirs: Ave Grazia Plena from Raito (SA), Cantores Dei from Pietramelara (CE), Santa Maria del Popolo from Torre del Greco (NA), Exultate Deo from Pietravairano (CE), and CanteRemo from Caserta. Over 130 voices, with a live orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Marco Rosiello, the promoter and organizer of the initiative.

The program combined Marian devotion with the spirit of the Holy Year, featuring solo voices from the Choir of the Diocese of Rome: soprano Paola Cecchi, mezzo-soprano Mariangela Topa, sopranist Salvatore Saracino, and the young Melizzano native Giovanni Rossetti. The finale, with the audience standing to sing and the singers waving colorful scarves as a Jubilee sign, became the iconic image of the festival.

The evening, included in the festivities for the Madonna della Libera, drew faithful and enthusiasts from all over the province of Benevento and Campania to Melizzano, convincing the organizers to turn the concert into an annual event.
