Edition 2025 — Matasse Festival

The 2025 edition of the Matasse Festival took place on Saturday, August 9, in the historic center of Caposele, as part of the Caposele Summer program. In 2025, the PAT-recognized handmade pasta of the Campania Region was once again the star of the square stands, along with demonstrations by the 'matassare', while the evening concluded with the Night of the Quadriglia directed by Tonuccio Corona, starting at 9:00 PM in the town squares.

The 2025 edition of the Matasse Festival

On August 9, 2025, Caposele confirmed its most anticipated appointment. The Pro Loco Caposele, with the support of the Municipality, set up stands in the historic center, offering matasse in traditional variants — with chickpeas and extra virgin olive oil, with ragù, with tomato fillet — alongside artisan bread, Irpinian wines, and typical desserts.

From 9:00 PM, the town moved to the square for the Night of the Quadriglia with Tonuccio Corona, the folk dance that has accompanied the festival for decades, preceded in the evening by pasta preparation demonstrations by the matassare.

The festival was set within a particularly rich weekend of the Caposele Summer 2025: on August 8, the Jazz & Wine festival in the shadow of the bell tower with trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso and pianist Julian Oliver Mazzariello, and on August 10, the celebrations for Saint Lawrence. A combination that brought visitors from all over the Province of Avellino and Campania to Alta Irpinia.
