MAST Festival 2025 — «Vortex»
From August 1st to 9th, 2025, MAST Festival animated Scicli, in the Val di Noto in the province of Ragusa, with its fifth edition dedicated to the theme of the «Vortex»: a movement of crisis and rebirth capable of recirculating what is discarded and transforming it into new energy.
The program intertwined electronic music, experimentation, and visual arts in various venues—from Centrale MAST to Villa Penna, from Spazio Fosso to the Via Badiula parking lot and the Church of Santa Teresa—with live sets, DJ sets, exhibitions, and moments of reflection spanning philosophy, architecture, and sustainability. Artists featured in this edition included names from the international electronic and experimental scene such as Tomoki Tamura, Kiss Nuka, Claraguilar, Miguel Herreras, and Tammur.
Confirming its independent and self-funded nature, and with the support of the Municipality of Scicli and the Sicilian Region, the 2025 edition reaffirmed the festival's mission to use culture as a tool for enhancing the territory and communities of southeastern Sicily.
