Mario Pompei. Essere Scenografo. Bozzetti, scene e costumi

The rediscovery of the work of Mario Pompei (1903-1958) is part of a study and valorization process of Italian 20th-century artistic heritage promoted in the Marche region. A set designer, illustrator, and poster artist, Pompei linked his name to opera, drama, variety shows, and children's theatre, as well as to the famous character Pinco Pallino, created between 1929 and 1930.

The curatorial research work by Pierfrancesco Giannangeli and Maria Letizia Paiato on the Pompei Archive laid the foundation for the exhibition project which, in 2026, brought sketches, sets, and costumes by the artist to the Palazzo Ricci Museum in Macerata and the Civic Museums of Palazzo Pianetti in Jesi, Province of Ancona.
