2025 Edition
The 2025 edition of the Maria SS. del Mirto Festival took place in Villafranca Sicula (AG) in early August, with the highlight on Sunday, August 3, 2025. The town was once again divided between the sammichilari in blue and the sangiuannara in red, protagonists of the entry of the laurel on the eve and the rigattiate, the devotional race of the statues of Saint Michael and Saint John to the rhythm of the band.
On Sunday, after the solemn Holy Mass and the tour of the drummers, the grand procession took place with the painting of the Madonna del Mirto on a flower-adorned float. The festivities concluded with the usual fireworks competition, one of the most appreciated in Sicily, which illuminated the sky of the Agrigento village.
