Maria Santissima di Custonaci Festival in Erice

In 2025, the festivities in honor of Maria Santissima di Custonaci, patron saint of Erice (TP), took place according to tradition during the last week of August, with the climax on Wednesday, August 28. The Chiesa Matrice, the village's Real Duomo, hosted a solemn mass presided over by the archbishop, accompanied by the sound of firecrackers and a performance by the local marching band.

On the afternoon of August 28, the procession carrying the venerated image of the Madonna took place along the cobblestone streets of the historic center—one of the most deeply felt moments for the community—followed in the evening by a fireworks display in Piazza Matrice. The celebrations reaffirmed the strong bond between Erice and its patron saint, in an atmosphere of devotion and popular festivity.
