Edition 2025 — Maria Ausiliatrice in Cornaley

In 2025, the village of Cornaley in Settimo Vittone (TO) celebrated its patron saint, Maria Ausiliatrice, with the traditional end-of-May festival. As always, the community gathered for the solemn mass and procession, accompanied by the convivial moments of a village feast: communal tables, games, and musical evenings in the village square, featuring the preparation of Suet Gris, the spring polenta that symbolizes the Canavese territory.

The 2025 edition of the Maria Ausiliatrice Patronal Feast confirmed the vitality of a tradition deeply rooted in the village of Cornaley, in Settimo Vittone, in the upper Canavese. Centered around the devotion to the Madonna Ausiliatrice, with the solemn mass and procession, the event wove together the rituals of village conviviality: community lunches and dinners, traditional games, and evenings animated by local music. A key protagonist in this edition was also the Suet Gris, the ancient wild herb polenta of peasant cuisine, which would become the first De.C.O. recipe of the municipality the following year. The festival represented an important moment of gathering for the small community of the village and for the many visitors arriving from the Canavese area.
