Edition 2025 — Maratona di Salemi
Towards the inaugural edition
The Maratona di Salemi Half Marathon is a new event, with its first documented edition being in 2026. There are no sources confirming an edition held in 2025: the project for a wine half marathon in Salemi, in the heart of western Sicily, was conceived and announced to debut in the autumn of 2026.
The idea was born to bring the format of the great European wine races to Sicily, promoting the village of Salemi (Province of Trapani), the Belice Valley countryside, and the area's family-run wineries. Those looking for an edition to participate in can look forward to the inaugural 2026 event.
