Majje Dde Le Defenze

In 2025, the Majje Dde Le Defenze confirmed its role as an identity event for Lucito. The rite, rediscovered in 1988 and revived since 1997 by the ALTAIR Association, featured the customary preparation of the Defenza in the morning and the afternoon procession of the 'maggiaioli', accompanied by traditional instruments, to announce the arrival of May and ensure a good harvest in the Biferno valley.

As tradition dictates: preparation of the Defenza in the morning and the Majje procession in the afternoon through the streets of the historic center, with musical accompaniment by tambourine, ciaramella, bagpipes, and bufù, and singing by the 'maggiaioli'.
