About Maggio Rodigino

Throughout May, Rovigo transforms into a widespread cultural laboratory with Maggio Rodigino - Spring of Culture: conferences, concerts, exhibitions, dialogues, and meetings held in historic palaces, theatres, museums, and squares of the Polesine capital. Promoted by the Foundation for the Development of Polesine, it revolves around a major theme each year, with a particular focus on dialogue between cultures, memory, and young people.

The Spring of Polesine Culture

Maggio Rodigino - Spring of Culture is the event that enlivens Rovigo, the capital of Polesine in Veneto, for an entire month. Promoted by the Foundation for the Development of Polesine, it intertwines conferences, concerts, exhibitions, intercultural dialogues, and events dedicated to schools and citizens, spread across the city's historic palaces, theatres, museums, and squares — from Palazzo Roncale to Palazzo Angeli, from the Temple of the Virgin of Mercy (the Rotonda) to Piazza Annonaria.

A Different Theme Each Year

Each edition is built around a major cultural issue, developed with a multidisciplinary approach that connects culture, history, geopolitics, environment, and gastronomy. The festival focuses on the "social dimension of culture," involving scholars, artists, young people, and communities in an open dialogue.

Culture as Dialogue

Through international conferences, interfaith dialogues, musical events, and initiatives for schools, Maggio Rodigino offers Rovigo and Polesine a dense and free program that enhances the city''s heritage and makes it a space for meeting and reflection. The closing, usually entrusted to a major popular event in the square, seals a month of participation.

Maggio Rodigino — edition 2026

The 9th edition of Maggio Rodigino took place from May 3rd to 29th, 2026, with the theme "Mediterranean: its spirit, its time, its utopia". A month of conferences, concerts, exhibitions, and intercultural dialogues in Rovigo, from the opening concert on May 3rd at the Temple of the Virgin of Mercy to the grand closing popular festival in Piazza Annonaria.

The 2026 edition of Maggio Rodigino, the ninth, focused on the Mediterranean — "its spirit, its time, its utopia" — as a complex cultural, historical, and geopolitical space. From May 3rd to 29th, Rovigo hosted conferences, dialogues on migration and identity, international law and geopolitics meetings, musical moments, and sporting and gastronomic events. The program, promoted by the Foundation for the Development of Polesine, involved historic palaces, theatres, museums, and city squares.
