Edition 2025 — Maggio Musicale Fiorentino

The 87th edition of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Festival took place from April 13 to July 1, 2025, at the Teatro del Maggio in Florence. The program featured ten opera titles, twenty-five symphonic and symphonic-choral concerts, two ballets, opera for children, and numerous non-subscription events, with the presence of great conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, and Antonio Pappano.

The 87th edition of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Festival was held from April 13 to July 1, 2025, confirming the Florentine theatre's vocation as one of the reference centers for opera and symphonic music in Italy.

Among the opera titles were Richard Strauss's Salome (directed by Emma Dante, cond. Alexander Soddy), Henze's Der junge Lord (cond. Markus Stenz), and Verdi's Aida (cond. Zubin Mehta, directed by Damiano Michieletto). On the symphonic side, highlights included Verdi's Requiem and Britten's War Requiem, with the presence of the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Antonio Pappano and conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Daniele Gatti, Michele Mariotti, and Kent Nagano.
