Edition 2025 — Madonna di San Fili

The 2025 edition of the Madonna di San Fili Festival was held in Monteroni di Lecce on Monday, April 21, and Tuesday, April 22, for the usual Easter Monday appointment. As per tradition, the program combined the religious dimension—market fair, holy mass, and procession—with the secular and sporting one, featuring the greasy pole competition and the food festival dedicated to the flavors of Salento.

In 2025, the festival took place on April 21 and 22, during the Easter Monday period, confirming the format that blends devotion and spectacle. The first day was dedicated to the market fair, holy mass, and the procession through the streets of Monteroni di Lecce, accompanied by the band and fireworks.

The second day featured the greasy pole, with the competition of amateur teams on the soap-covered poles and the exhibition of local professionals, a discipline recognized by CONI and a source of pride for the Salento community. The festival also included the 'sagra' with specialties of traditional Apulian cuisine.
