The 2025 edition

The 2025 edition of the Madonna di Pietraquaria Festival confirmed Avezzano's strong bond with its patron saint. On the evening of April 26th, the Focaraccio torchlight relay carried the blessed fire through the city, followed by the lighting of focaracci in the various neighborhoods, with the municipal administration inviting citizens to light them in a spirit of sobriety and civic respect. On April 27th, the solemn procession crossed the city center to the Cathedral of the Marsi for the pontifical mass, concluding with illuminations and fireworks. A well-attended edition that renewed one of the most identity-defining traditions of the Marsica region.
