The 2025 edition
The 2025 Madonna della Vena Festival was celebrated on Sunday, September 7 in the Vena hamlet of Piedimonte Etneo, in the province of Catania. The religious festivities concluded the long summer season of the hamlet, part of the 'Under the Volcano' program enlivened throughout the summer by local associations with evenings in Piazza Santuario, shows, and gastronomic events, including the historic Sagra del Pane Condito in mid-August.
On the day of the festival, after the morning celebrations, the statue of the Madonna emerged triumphantly from the sanctuary accompanied by the sound of bells, the throwing of colorful paper, and fireworks; the devotees sang the traditional Cantata before the procession along the country roads, closed by the evening pyrotechnic show. A day that brought the entire community together around its patron saint and the ancient Etna sanctuary.
