Madonna della Scala Festival

The 2025 Madonna della Scala Festival renewed one of the most cherished traditions for the community in Castellammare del Golfo. The celebrations opened in late August with the sung rosary and Holy Mass, followed by the preparatory novena.

On the eve of the feast, the ciacculata was renewed, the evening torchlight procession that commemorates the shepherdess's search. On the afternoon of September 8th, the statue of the Madonna traveled through the streets of the historic center, accompanied by the faithful who chanted the rosary in the Castellammare dialect. In Piazza Porta Fraginesi, the customary tasting of tagghiarini con le fave took place, while the return of the statue to the mother church was greeted by fireworks that concluded the day of celebration.
