Madonna della Libera Festival

The 2025 edition confirmed the vitality of a devotion that, in Moiano, in the Province of Benevento, shows no signs of waning. On August 15th, 2025, the flag with the image of the Madonna della Libera was hoisted in the town center, officially starting the time of waiting; the evenings of the novena followed, with the rosary, Eucharistic blessing, and prayers to the Black Madonna.

On September 7th, the statue was adorned with its blue mantle and the gold and ex-voto offerings donated by the faithful. On September 8th, the feast of the Nativity of Mary, the procession traversed Moiano for the entire day, from morning until evening, concluding with the return to the church and the 'strascino' ritual. The three days of secular festivities featured artistic illuminations, brass band music in the square, and the final fireworks, all with free admission.
