Ferragosto 2025 in Campomarino di Maruggio

The celebrations were preceded by the novena to Maria SS. Assunta, which began on August 6th in the parish of Campomarino di Maruggio. On the evening of August 14th, at 6:30 PM, the procession took place through the streets of the village with the effigy of the Virgin of the Assumption, accompanied by the "G. Puccini" Musical Association Band of Maruggio and the "S. Francesco d'Assisi – Giostra dei Rioni" Flag-wavers Group of Avetrana.

On August 15th, in the afternoon starting at 5:00 PM, the evocative sea procession with the image of the Madonna was held: the procession of boats traveled along the entire coastal stretch of the Municipality of Maruggio, from the Mirante area to the Acquadolce area. Before returning to port, near the small chapel in the Madonnina area, the community prayed for all those who died at sea, offering a floral tribute upon the waters.
