The 2025 Madonna dell'Abbondanza Festival in Cursi

On July 12 and 13, 2025, Cursi, in the province of Lecce, celebrated its patronal feast in honor of the Madonna dell'Abbondanza, renewing a devotion rooted in the miracle of 1640.

The evening of Saturday, July 12, in Piazza Pio XII, featured musical entertainment by the group Bar Italia, which enlivened the town center. Sunday, July 13, saw the most solemn moment: at 10:00 AM, the procession with the statues of Saint Nicholas and the Madonna dell'Abbondanza traversed the streets of Cursi, accompanied by the notes of the Città di Conversano and Città di Castellana Grotte bands.

After the outdoor mass, the day continued with the festive return of the statues to the church of Saint Nicholas, under the scenic light arches created by the Mariano firm of Scorrano. In the evening, near the sports field, fireworks by Pirotecnica Napoletana of Matino illuminated the sky, bringing a beautiful close to a festival deeply felt by the Cursi community.
