Madonna del Soccorso Summer Festival

The 2025 edition of the Madonna del Soccorso Festival renewed the most anticipated summer event for the community of Sciacca, in the province of Agrigento. The festival opened with the placement of the statue in the Basilica's presbytery and unfolded over two weeks of liturgical celebrations and moments of popular devotion. The climax, on August 15th, was the solemn evening procession: the ancient float, adorned with gold, silver, and coral, crossed the historic center on the shoulders of about a hundred sailors, accompanied by the "fumata" ritual along Via Licata, in memory of the 1626 miracle. The 2025 edition also opened the path toward the great celebrations of the 4th Centenary in 2026.
