2025 Edition

The 2025 winter edition of the Madonna del Soccorso Festival confirmed the extraordinary devotion of Sciacca to its patron saint. On February 1st, the faithful completed the vigil pilgrimage from the Church of Sant'Agostino to the Mother Church, many walking barefoot. On February 2nd, in the late afternoon, the procession of the marble statue on the ancient 17th-century float carried on the shoulders of the sailors crossed the city streets, with the customary Fumata ritual on Via Licata recalling the liberation from the plague of 1626. The festival concluded with a solemn Eucharistic celebration in the Basilica, with great participation from residents, former emigrants, and devotees who arrived from all over Sicily.
