Madonna del Rosario Festival

The 2025 edition of the Madonna del Rosario Festival in Vignacastrisi (Ortelle, LE) took place from Friday, October 3, to Sunday, October 5, confirming the tradition that sees festivities concentrated on the first weekend of the month.

The eve was dedicated to the religious dimension, with the Holy Rosary, the novena, the transport of the statue, and an outdoor Holy Mass. The day of the feast, Saturday, October 4, opened at dawn with the ringing of bells and a fireworks salute, reaching its most intense moment with the solemn procession of the antique Venetian wooden statue through the village streets and the solemn mass. In the afternoon, the grand daytime fireworks competition took place, and in the evening, the traditional Grand Brass Band Concert. Sunday concluded the festivities with music in the square.

Friday, October 3 — Eve

• Holy Rosary, novena, and celebrations in honor of the Madonna
• Transport of the statue and outdoor Holy Mass

Saturday, October 4 — Day of the feast

• 07:30 — Announcement of the feast with church bells and fireworks
• 08:00 — Holy Mass
• 09:30 — Floral tribute by the Festival Committee at the War Memorial
• 10:00 — Solemn procession with the antique Venetian wooden statue through the village streets, followed by Solemn Mass
• 16:30 — Grand daytime fireworks competition
• Evening — Grand Brass Band Concert with the 'Città di Castellana' and 'Città di Conversano' bands
• 18:30 — Eucharistic celebration

Sunday, October 5

• 21:30 — In Piazza Umberto I, concert by Antonio Amato with his Salento folk music Live Tour
