Madonna del Piano Festival

The 2025 edition of the Madonna del Piano Festival was the triennial festival, the most solemn moment of the devotional cycle that unites Ausonia and Castro dei Volsci. As per centuries-old tradition, the solemnity of August 21st at the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Piano was enriched by the triennial rite: a long procession departed from Ausonia to reach Castelnuovo Parano, where the meeting with the faithful from Castro took place, including the exchange of banners and the symbolic entrustment of the wooden statue of the Madonna and Child.

Throughout the month of August, the sanctuary welcomed pilgrims and devotees from Ausonia, Coreno Ausonio, Castelnuovo Parano, and Spigno Saturnia, with daily Eucharistic celebrations and moments of prayer. The next triennial festival is expected in 2028.
